Make A Blog For Affiliate Marketing
Although you can use whatever type of website for affiliate marketing, utilizing blogging for affiliate marketing is the most popular because of its convenience and ease of use. If you want to create your own blog from scratch, more power to you, but from a time and convenience standpoint blogging with pre-made designed blogs is the way to go.

If you use a blog like Wordpress, you will have much of the design and development out of the way by Wordpress already. Make sure to use Wordpress.org, not Wordpress.com, because Wordpress.com does not allow for affiliate links or advertisements on their websites; Wordpress.org allows for pretty much everything in that realm. Anyhow, with a blog like Wordpress, you will be able to get posting and promoting products in only a few minutes. If you have prior blogging experience, you will take to Wordpress very quickly as it has a simple setup and layout. It will not take anywhere near a computer scientist to figure out.

You can download some nice plug ins, such as search engine optimization, as it will ask for the specifics of the page - name, description, and keywords - which will help search engines rank it high. You can find any other goodies from simple searches.

You will need to purchase a domain for about $10 (annually) and probably hosting starting at $5 (monthly). You may be able to get hosting free with a some companies after purchasing a domain. I have a subscription to an affiliate marketing website which includes hosting, so it costs me nothing extra.

Blogging is a convenient, quick, and painless way to get your affiliate marketing business up and running. I know of very few affiliate marketers who have had a website designed for them from the bottom up. With the cheap price and ease of use, there's no reason to not use blogging as your website.
